Certified Dog Trainer and Political Scientist
Vi Dog Training was launched in 2020 in Uppsala, Sweden. We offer private lessons, group classes and lectures both in Uppsala, Stockholm and online.
My name is Mia (she/her) and I am the owner of Vi Dog Training. I am a certified dog trainer and I was certified by Hundsteg. I am also a political scientist and have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lund University, Sweden, and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. As a political scientist, I mostly focus on peace and conflict and international security.
I grew up in Västervik, Sweden, but I have spent most of my adult life in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. I have also lived in the US and in Belgium.

Vi Dog Training is a member of Sveriges Hundföretagare, a sector-wide organization for dog business owners in Sweden
In today’s Sweden, anyone can call themselves a dog trainer without even having any type of degree or certificate within dog training. Vi Dog Training has been granted the “H-märke” which is a seal that confirms membership of Sveriges Hundföretagare.
A seal of quality
This is how the organization describe themselves on their website (freely translated into English by Vi Dog Training): Sveriges Hundföretagare unites dog business owners who have an ethical approach to dogs, a high quality of their services and who offer modern and updated knowledge about dogs. Sveriges Hundföretagare founded the “H-märket - an official seal of quality within the dog business sector.
The fact that Vi Dog Training is a member of Sveriges Hundföretagare also means that you as a client can bring forth complaints to the organization if you believe that Vi Dog Training infringes on the organization’s statutes, policy and/or ideology or acts in any way that might lead to any damaging of Sveriges Hundföretagare.

Mia is a certified dog trainer by Hundsteg.
The dog trainer certification course included, among other things, dogs’ physical and emotional well-being; ethology (the science of animal behavior); methodology; breed specific knowledge; clicker training; puppy development and of course lots of practical training with many different dogs.
